Family is requesting volunteer services for caregiver respite on Sundays so the wife, who is the primary caretaker, can run weekly errands. 

We have a 55 year old male hospice patient currently residing in a home in winters with his siblings. Patient is alert, oriented, and able to ambulate on his own, however does have some episodes of confusion. Per his sister, patient enjoys playing cards, board games, playing tick-tack-toe, and other activities. Per medical social worker, family could benefit from a volunteer due to potential caregiver burnout. Patient would also benefit from more socialization.

If you like to read a book or even study, and at the same time provide the family support- this is your match!  The family needs a friday morning visitor so they can run to the grocery store. Respite is so helpful for our YC families!

86 year old female patient living in Woodland hopes for a volunteer.  This is a hybrid of respite and companionship as the pt. will interact some days and not other, so expect both!  Might you be willing to support this family please?

72 year old male living is West Sac who is non-verbal has a family that needs a break.  This is a respite call out for one of you precious and generous volunteers.  The family would like a break sometime m-f in the mornings. West Sac is a quick drive accross the causeway, 15 mins from our offices, without traffic. So, it can be longer....but later morings it is pretty good!! Please consider giving this family a much needed break.

84 year old female living in a facility in Woodland hope to have a "chit-chat buddy" as she said.  It is a lonely thng to be in a facility sometimes. Might you be able to go visit this lovely lady once a week for a little chin-wagging? She sure would appreciate it, as would her family.

Description:
This opportunity is for trained volunteers providing a one-time visit to a hospice patient who is not their regularly assigned patient. These visits are typically requested when a volunteer is unavailable, a patient has an immediate need, or special circumstances arise.

Examples of Visit Needs:

Vigil sitting (actively dying support)

Comfort-focused support (non-clinical)

Duration:
Typically 1–2 hours, depending on patient need.

Must be an active, hospice-trained volunteer
