We have a 103 year old female hospice patient residing at a facility in Sacramento. Patient is alert and oriented and is wheelchair bound. Patient is legally blind and is hard of hearing. Family is requestiong a volunteer to provide companionship.

We have a need for a volunteer for a family living in the rural part of Woodland. He is 61 with a terminal diagnosis of cancer & has had strokes. He loves talking about dirt bike riding, wookworking and anything mechanical and his wife would love for someone to come so she can run errands. If you are a volunteer willing to go to Woodland, we would love to help this family with your presence! They would love just an hour a week.

88 year old female with dementia and hard of hearing. This is a pt. that needs someone to just sit near by so the family can have respite. Pt. will be asleep. If you like to read a book or even study, and at the same time provide the family support- this is your match!  The family needs a volunteer each Friday afternoons from 2-5 so they can go to scheduled apt's. Respite is so helpful for our YC families!

One of our ADP clients seeks a supportive Hospice Volunteer to accompany him in our program. He attends two days a week. Tue and Fri 12-5. If you wish to accept this opportunity, there is an additional back ground check with finger prints that we need you to do.  Your assistance would be really welcome.

Description:
This opportunity is for trained volunteers providing a one-time visit to a hospice patient who is not their regularly assigned patient. These visits are typically requested when a volunteer is unavailable, a patient has an immediate need, or special circumstances arise.

Examples of Visit Needs:

Companionship and presence

Vigil sitting (actively dying support)

Comfort-focused support (non-clinical)

Patient or family-specific requests

Duration:
Typically 1–2 hours, depending on patient need.

Must be an active, hospice-trained volunteer
