This opportunity is to be used when participating in events that have a table designated to YoloCares. You will be with a staff member and support giving info to the public about YoloCares. Each individual event will be listed in our events page, but use this opportunity as a way to log your hours.

68 year old male with Alzheimers disease, who LOVES 70's rock & roll.  He resides in a board and care in Dixon. Have a phoen and speaker, go share in some groovy music with this patient.

5 Wishes presentions.

We have an 57 year old male patient residing at home in Davis diagnosed with ALS and has MaID. Patient is alert and oriented, uses a wheelchair at times and needs assistance. There are two cats in the home. Locked guns in home.

Wife & Daughter are requesting a doula for emotional support for themselves, potential engagement with patient and his acceptance, planning for EOL.  Family has been working with a doula who was out-of-state and feel they need someone in-person for the remainder of the journey. Doula will be of emotional support to wife, daughter, and Son (out-of-state). Assist in coordination of EOL journey and peperwork.

We have a 96 year old male patient residing at home in Woodland diagnosed with CHF. Patient is alert and oriented.

Patient is requesting a Doula for GUITAR LESSONS and wish lists as well as assistance with getting into an Adult Day Program.

We have a 94 year old male hospice patient residing at home in Gold River. Patient is alert with confusion and uses a walker. Patient is a veteran - he served in the Air Force during the Korean war. Family is searching for a volunteer preferably with a military background or interest in Native American history/culture who could visit Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

We have a 77 year old, female hospice patient living at home in Woodland. Patient is alert and oriented, and uses a walker/wheelchair to get around. They are looking for a Spanish-speaking volunteer for caregiver relief. Note, there is a dog in the home.

We have a 77 year old male hospice patient residing in a home in Winters. Pt served in the army in Vietnam. He misses his former activity level. He is alert and oriented. Family is requesting a volunteer for companionship.

We have an 86 year old male hospice patient residing at home in Vacaville. Patient experiences confusion due to their diagnosis and uses a walker/wheelchair to ambulate. Family is requesting a volunteer to provide caregiver relief.

59 year old female, lives in her home in Winters with her husband. She is completely bedbound, but alert. This family needs visits only Thursday morinings. The visits are for the husband's respite and companionship for the patient.   The Pt. loves to watch Hallmark movies and cooking shows, she used to be quite a cook.

The Adult Day Program (ADP) is held at Galileo Place. It is an adult day facility that provides respite care, socialization, and enrichment activities for elderly adults and adults with mild cognitive impairments.

The hours of the ADP are Mon-Fri 9:00 am-3:00pm.

The Adult Day Program is looking for volunteers who would like to socialize and support the clients attending ADP.  You will work with the volunteer coordinator at Galileo Place to find your fit at the program.

Client is an 81 yr old male who lives in Davis with his wife. He worked for US Army Corps of Engineers for many decades and travelled all over the world for his career. Client has dementia which was diagnosed 6 yrs ago. He attends Galileo Place and Sat. Club. Client likes to read the newspaper and go for walks with his dog, Lucky. Client's wife would like a volunteer for her husband for socialization and to provide her some respite. Client would like to go for walks with his dog and the volunteer. Client would also enjoy going out for coffee with the volunteer. He prefers an older male or female volunteer.

74 year old Vietnamese gentlman living in a facility in Sacramento would love a visit from you!  He has a thing for R&B music, do you too?? YAY you are a perfect match. Don't let the drive intimidate you, you may take a YC car, with a DMV back ground check, and the time driving counts toward your hours.  

We have a 91 year old, female palliative care patient living at home in Davis. Patient is alert and experiences confusion. They use a walker/wheelchair to get around. Family requests a volunteer for caregiver relief on Friday mornings from 8am-12 noon.

62 year old male with dementia, is non-communicative and requires constant care. His wife really needs a break and hopes to go to church. Might you consider this role as a way to support a caregiver? The wife speaks only Spanish. A Spanish speaking volunteer  is hoped for.

We have a 52 yo woman living alone in Davis who has neurogenerative changes, is legally blind, and will soon need surgery for colon cancer diagnosis which is hopefully caught early. Client has no family left and has limited support from friends.  Client may lose her seeing-eye dog due to her inability to walk and care for her dog (a volunteer has been matched through our Pet Peace of Mind program to assist her with caring for her dog). Going forward she would like a permanent volunteer for companionship, laundry, and occasional light meal prep.  Client attended UC Davis and wrote a thesis about guide dogs.  

95 year old female who lives with her son in West Sacramento hopes to have a volunteer visit and provide respite. She does use oxegen full time.

We have an 84 year old female palliative patient residing in a home in woodland. Patient is alert and oriented. She ambulates on her own. Family is requesting a volunteer for caregiver respite.

He previously worked as a truck driver. Patient has two dogs in the home. Searching for a volunteer to provide socialization.

We have a 71yo woman living at home with protein calorie malnutrition who caregiver (daughter) is requesting a female volunteer for companionship, emotional support,caregiver relief, and shopping/errands. Patient lived with dogs in the home.

Substitute or Assistant Group/Event Facilitation

Help our team capture the responses collected by the caregivers we serve at one of the many retreats we offer. You will simply be coding responses into a smartsheet, using our laptop at the offices, an hour per event.

Scheduling to be handled by the Center for Loss and Hope's (CLH) staff, during office hours, the week after our retreats. The CLH staff will be there to help you know what to do.

An hour of your assistance is needed, the week of:

March 20th

May 8th

July 17th

September 18th

November 6th

Volunteers are needed to assist the Center for Loss & Hope on an ongoing basis, at the end of every month, to assemble and post their Grief Mailers to be sent out to clients.

The day of the week and Time are flexible depending on your schedule and that of the Center for Loss & Hope. 

Work is done onsite at the YoloCares' offices and occurs during regular operating hours, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

Shifts are estimated to be 2-4 hours, 1 day a week, every month.

Capacity for up to two volunteers to assist.

Help our Bereavement Department and our patients' loved ones by assisting in this essential service of YoloCares.
