We have a 103 year old female hospice patient residing at a facility in Sacramento. Patient is alert and oriented and is wheelchair bound. Patient is legally blind and is hard of hearing. Family is requestiong a volunteer to provide companionship.

This gentlman worked as a civilian at a military base, and now suffers from dementia. His wife would like respite help. They live in a home in Vacaville. Might this be a location that works for you?

We have a need for a volunteer for a family living in the rural part of Woodland. He is 61 with a terminal diagnosis of cancer & has had strokes. He loves talking about dirt bike riding, wookworking and anything mechanical and his wife would love for someone to come so she can run errands. If you are a volunteer willing to go to Woodland, we would love to help this family with your presence! They would love just an hour a week.

We are seeking a kind and patient volunteer with guitar-playing experience to provide companionship and teach basic guitar skills to a 96-year-old palliative patient. The patient, a Navy veteran, is alert, oriented, and eager to learn how to play the guitar. He resides at home with his wife, who is his primary caregiver.

We have a 91 year old, female palliative care patient living at home in Davis. Patient is alert and experiences confusion. They use a walker/wheelchair to get around. Family requests a volunteer for caregiver relief on Friday mornings from 8am-12 noon.

62 year old male with dementia, is non-communicative and requires constant care. His wife really needs a break and hopes to go to church. Might you consider this role as a way to support a caregiver? The wife speaks only Spanish. A Spanish speaking volunteer  is hoped for.

If you are a country lover, come take a gentle drive up to Arbuckle and join this pat on her daily walk around her 10 acre property.  She also would like help gardening....how fun for an outdoorsy volunteer!  Arbucke is a 1/2 drive north on HWY 5.  Never will you hit traffic (most likely). This sounds like a fun volunteer opportunity!

This client is 88 years old and lives alone in Knights Landing.  She has a history of TIAs, yet is cognitively sharp.  She enjoys going out to lunch, support from her church, and socialization.  

92 year old man needs your company. He loves looking at his digital frame with photos of his family. He has dementia and still enjoys company. He prefers someone to visit in the afternoons.

83 year old female living in a facility in Woodland. Her family hopes she may have some socialization support from a volunteer. She is non-verbal, so you would likely play music for her or read to her.  Being present is enough! If you feel drawn to her, please consider this opportunity to be soul-to-soul!

Medical Records is looking for administrative support!  If you are available to lend a hand, we would love to have you join us! Tasks will vary, but your presence and assistance will surely make a huge difference.

Support: Training for this position will be provided. Also, the Assistant Director will be available for questions and assistance.

A very young 37 year old male pt. on hospice due to a cancer diagnosis, is living in Elk Grove. He needs a volunteer. He is bedbound. 

86 year old female patient living in Woodland hopes for a volunteer.  This is a hybrid of respite and companionship as the pt. will interact some days and not other, so expect both!  Might you be willing to support this family please?

Might you be willing to pick up produce and flowers and bring them weekly to Joshua's House from our offices?  This could also be a shared job, ideally 4-5 people, going once a month.  If you can drive over there, it takes about 25 minutes, depending upon traffic.  It woudl be lovely! The Adult Day Program (ADP) is held at Galileo Place. It is an adult day facility that provides respite care, socialization, and enrichment activities for elderly adults and adults with mild cognitive impairments.

The hours of the ADP are Mon-Fri 9:00 am-3:00pm.

The Adult Day Program is looking for volunteers who would like to socialize and support the clients attending ADP.  You will work with the volunteer coordinator at Galileo Place to find your fit at the program.

Substitute or Assistant Group/Event Facilitation

Help our team capture the responses collected by the caregivers we serve at one of the many retreats we offer. You will simply be coding responses into a smartsheet, using our laptop at the offices, an hour per event.

Scheduling to be handled by the Center for Loss and Hope's (CLH) staff, during office hours, the week after our retreats. The CLH staff will be there to help you know what to do.

An hour of your assistance is needed, the week of:

March 20th

May 8th

July 17th

September 18th

November 6th

Volunteers are needed to assist the Center for Loss & Hope on an ongoing basis, at the end of every month, to assemble and post their Grief Mailers to be sent out to clients.

The day of the week and Time are flexible depending on your schedule and that of the Center for Loss & Hope. 

Work is done onsite at the YoloCares' offices and occurs during regular operating hours, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

Shifts are estimated to be 2-4 hours, 1 day a week, every month.

Capacity for up to two volunteers to assist.

Help our Bereavement Department and our patients' loved ones by assisting in this essential service of YoloCares.
