Description

Dear volunteers,

I am absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news that is going to add an extra dose of inspiration to our upcoming Volunteer Support Group meeting.

Madalon is not just an expert in the field; she's a trailblazer, a compassionate advocate, and an individual whose passion has left an indelible mark on the landscape of hospice/palliative care.

Madalon's journey is nothing short of remarkable. As the founder and first president of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association, Director of Education and Research at Forbes Hospice, and the visionary behind the Pennsylvania Hospice Network, she has been a driving force in transforming the way we approach hospice care.

Her incredible commitment doesn't stop there. Madalon was a key figure in Washington during the campaign to create the Medicare Hospice Benefit, co-authoring the first American textbook on hospice care. Her accolades also include awards such as HPNA’s Leading the Way award and the University of Pittsburgh Distinguished Alumni Award.

After relocating to Davis, CA, Madalon embraced the spirit of giving back by joining Yolo Hospice as a dedicated member of the Board of Directors and contributed to the organization’s palliative care model.

I can't emphasize enough how fortunate we are to have Madalon join us. Her wealth of knowledge and passion for the field of hospice is sure to inspire each of us.

I encourage each of you to attend and participate actively in what promises to be an enlightening session.

For those of you who are students, this is truly an amazing educational opportunity. Please mark your calendars, and RSVP via our website if you plan on attending.
