This opportunity is for trained volunteers providing a one-time visit to a hospice patient who is not their regularly assigned patient. These visits are typically requested when a volunteer is unavailable, a patient has an immediate need, or special circumstances arise.

Examples of Visit Needs:

  • Companionship and presence

  • Vigil sitting (actively dying support)

  • Comfort-focused support (non-clinical)

  • Patient or family-specific requests

Important Note:
Please document the patient’s full name in the “Additional Comments/Concerns” section when signing up. This ensures appropriate coordination with staff and continuity of care.

Duration:
Typically 1–2 hours, depending on patient need.

Eligibility:

  • Must be an active, hospice-trained volunteer

  • Confirm details with the Volunteer Manager prior to the visit
