We have a 52 yo woman living alone in Davis who has neurogenerative changes, is legally blind, and will soon need surgery for colon cancer diagnosis which is hopefully caught early. Client has no family left and has limited support from friends. Client may lose her seeing-eye dog due to her inability to walk and care for her dog (a volunteer has been matched through our Pet Peace of Mind program to assist her with caring for her dog). Going forward she would like a permanent volunteer for companionship, laundry, and occasional light meal prep. Client attended UC Davis and wrote a thesis about guide dogs.
